How do you know this site is Secure SSL?

Not all pages require SSL security.

SSL secure pages are important for protecting personal information over the internet. However, SSL secure pages also load slowly as compared to unsecured pages. For this reason a web site will usually only secure those page where sensitive information is being transferred. This web site secures all pages that contain billing or personal information.

Look for the lock

Every page that is secure will show the lock to the right of your browser's address bar.

Look for the "s"

Every page that is secure will show the "https://" in the link instead of the usual "http://".

What is SSL?

The SSL (and TLS) protocol is the Web standard for encrypting communications between users and SSL (secure sockets layer) e-commerce sites. Data sent via an SSL connection is protected by encryption, a mechanism that prevents eavesdropping and tampering with any transmitted data. SSL provides businesses and consumers with the confidence that private data sent to a Web site, such as credit card numbers, are kept confidential. Web server certificates (also known as secure server certificates or SSL certificates) are required to initialize an SSL session. Customers know when they have an SSL session with a web site when their browser displays the little gold padlock and the address bar begins with a https rather than http. SSL certificates can be used on web servers for Internet security and mail servers such as imp, pop3 and smut for mail collection / sending security.
